Presented is a stunning, 14 karat gold, sapphire and pearl brooch or pin made by Bippart, Griscom & Osborn of Newark, New Jersey during the very early 20th century. The back of the pin is engraved JW June 16, 1918. The brooch is in a crescent moon form and the tips or ends are topped with a layer of platinum. The front is securely prong set with sapphires and post set with pearls. The sapphires, which have a wonderful bright blue color, graduate in size along the pin. The clasp has a safety latch for added security.
The clasp is marked 14K and bears the Bippart, Griscom & Osborn hallmark.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. One of the larger sapphires has a tiny chip to the top of it, but this is hardly noticeable unless you are closely inspecting it. There are no missing pieces, no other damages and no repairs.
