Presented is an 18th century, English silver and baleen toddy ladle. This ladle was most likely made during the 1770s. The bowl, as with most traditional toddy ladles of this age, was formed out of a single coin. You can see the little raised lines along the rim that were once words around the edge of a coin. The baleen handle is in a classical twist form and it has a silver cap at the end. The long baleen piece is securely riveted to the silver handle.

This old piece is in excellent condition for its age. There is a tiny bit of wiggle to the baleen handle but it is still securely riveted to the silver bowl. There are a couple of tiny dings to the bowl, but that should be expected on a piece of this age. There are no other damages and no repairs.

The ladle measures 13 3/4 inches long.
