1891 Wonderful Dutch .833 Silver Large Serving Spoon w Windmill Handle

Presented is a wonderful Dutch silver serving spoon, dated 1891. The spoon is ornately decorated throughout its surface with intricate designs of cherubs, flowers, and foliate scrollwork. The bowl has a shield shaped design with a crest of a heron or similar water bird holding a snake in its beak, beneath a crown and surrounded by two cornucopias. The handle is done in the form of a windmill, with blades that really spin. The bowl of the piece features a lot of intricate openwork, very detailed and well done. The piece is engraved with what looks like "S. Masenkage."

This piece is in great condition. The details of the designs are nice and crisp. There are no breaks, no splits, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

This piece is stamped with the Dutch lion passant for a minimum silver purity of 833, the key-shaped export mark, the duty mark of Minerva's head, the dagger-shaped small article guarantee mark, and a date letter of a Gothic G for 1891.

This piece is about 8 3/8 inches long.
