Presented is an attractive, German silver perfume bottle or vinaigrette made around the 1890s. The thin bottle is decorated with lovely spade -shaped leaf bands of design along the rims of either side. There is an un-engraved cartouche in the center of one side and a raised trumpet, pan flute, tambourine, ribbon and flower crest on the other side. The decorative stopper or lid features a full figure butterfly, which is safely attached by a chain. The whole piece hangs from a silver chain attached to a curved piece that hangs over a belt, essentially a chatelaine.
This piece is marked Germany and has pseudo-hallmarks from Hanau. This piece is guaranteed to be at least .800 purity silver.
