1890-1915 Japanese Art Nouveau Set Of Silver Overlay Cordials W/Silver Tray

Presented is a fabulous set of silver overlay cordials with tray. This is a Japanese set, made in the Art Nouveau time period and very much in the Art Nouveau style. The set comes with five cordial glasses, ten sterling silver liners in which the glasses fit, and a silver and glass serving tray. The sterling silver liners are done in the form of flowers and grasses, realistically rendered and beautifully done. The tray has a sterling silver rim done in the same design, with bamboo shaped handles. This is fabulous, top quality work, suggesting a high end maker like Samurai Shokai or Arthur & Bond, though the pieces are not marked.

Each of the glasses is about 2 1/2 inches tall. The silver liners are about 1 1/2 inches tall. The tray is about 17 1/2 by 6 7/8 inches.
