Presented is a fabulous sterling silver vanity box from Gorham. This piece displays large hand chased scrolls and leafy decorations around the box and throughout the lid. The base and the edge of the lid have an elegant ruffled design. The top of the lid displays a small cartouche which has been monogrammed, JMB in a flowing script.
This piece is marked on the underside with sterling along with the maker's mark for Gorham and the date mark for 1887.
This piece is in great overall condition. The ruffled edge on the lid has a slight bend in it on one side visible in the photos, but has since been fixed. There are no breaks, no split, and no repairs.
Measurements: 3 1/4 inches long, 2 3/8 inches wide, and 2 inches tall
