Presented are handsome sterling silver sugar tongs from George Sharp. This piece displays a medallion pattern of a woman's head on one side of the tongs and a cartouche on the other that has been monogrammed “P” in a gothic script. The tong sides have an angular shape with claw feet on the ends. There are nice engravings throughout the piece and a slight gold wash on the tong ends.
The inside is marked with the maker's mark for George Sharp and the patent date of 1866.
This piece is in great overall condition. The pattern details are well-defined. There are no breaks and no repairs.
