Presented is a stunning pair of gilded brass candlesticks from French maker Ferdinand Barbedienne, one of the best makers in the world. This pair was made in the mid 1800s. This pair displays fancy chased leaves and beaded edges around the base and top section. The middle neck has elegant vertical ribbing.
The candlesticks can come apart by unscrewing the base and lifting the center rod out. Each candlestick as a wax drip tray that removes easily.
The side of one base is marked for Ferdinand Barbedienne.
This pair is in excellent overall condition. The gilding is bright and the decorations are crisp. There are no breaks and no repairs.
Measurements: 5 1/2 inches in diameter at the base and 11 1/4 inches tall -kc
