Presented is a superb William IV English sterling silver sauce or gravy ladle. This piece is made in a classic Fiddle Thread pattern, and as such will match flatware by a wide variety of other English or American makers, this is a very popular and versatile design. The front of the terminal has a monogram of S in flowing script.
This piece is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, the date letter B for 1837, the duty stamp of King William IV's head, and the maker's mark for Joseph & Albert Savory.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The ladle measures about 7 inches long.
