Presented is a fantastic Georgian English sterling silver platter or stuffing spoon. This piece dates to 1810 and was made by Richard Crossley and George Smith IV. The spoon is done in a simple, classical form, with a distinctive downward turn to the end of the handle. This serving spoon is a good large size, with a long handle, great for any serving purpose you like.

This piece is in great overall condition. There is some minor surface wear throughout, which could be polished out easily. We have opted not to machine polish this piece, to leave the lovely patina intact. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

This piece is hallmarked on the back of the handle with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the date letter P for 1810, King George III's head duty mark, and the maker's mark for Richard Crossley and George Smith IV.

The spoon is about 12 inches long.

The spoon weighs 110 grams or 3.9 regular ounces.
