Presented is a lovely pair of English sterling silver sugar tongs. This pair has a classic shape. The back curve of the piece displays an engraved crest of a goose or swan.

The tongs are marked with full English hallmarks: the lion passant for sterling silver, the duty mark of King George III, and the date letter O representing 1809. The other side is marked with a maker's mark, perhaps for Thomas Dicks.
This piece is in great overall condition, especially considering age. There are only minor surface scratches from normal use. There are no breaks, no splits, and no repairs.

Length: 5 7/8 inches
Weight: 38 grams or 1.3 ounces -kc
