Presented is a fine quality antique, English sterling silver vinaigrette or scent box made in London in 1801. The inside of the box has a gold wash.

The inside of the vinaigrette box is marked with the lion passant mark indicating sterling silver, a leopard's crowned head for London, the date mark F for 1801, and a duty mark of King George III's head. The marker's mark is present but not readable. The lid is marked with a lion passant mark indicating sterling silver.

This piece is in excellent condition. The outside lid has a monogram. The inside grill of the scent box has a beautiful pierced design that is crisp and detailed. The inside of the box and grill are all gold-washed. The hinge to the outside lid and the hinge to the inside grill to the scent box are in great working condition.
