Presented is a wonderful English sterling silver sauce or gravy ladle made in 1795. The handle is in a rounded tipt pattern. The handle is free of monogram or monogram removals.
The reverse is marked with full English hallmarks: The lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for London, the duty mark of King George III's head, and the date letter U for 1795. There is also a maker's mark representing George Smith III & William Fearn.
This ladle is in great overall condition. There is a very slight dent where the ladle's bowl rests on the table and some surface scratching, all quite minor for age and use. There are no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs.
