Presented is a handsome coin silver serving spoon from the late 1700s. This piece has an elegant rounded end handle. The front of the piece is monogrammed “MM, 1793” and the back is monogrammed “WF/ AMS/ LFS”. The monogramming on the reverse was done in the 20th century. It also appears that the bowl use to have a picture back but its is almost entirely worn.
The reverse is clearly marked with the maker's mark for Daniel Dupuy, a Philadelphia maker in the 18th Century.
This piece is in great overall condition, especially considering age. The maker's mark is crisp and no wear beyond normal surface scratches. There are no breaks and no repairs.
Length: 9 1/4 inches
Weight: 60.5 grams or 2.1 ounces -kc
