Presented is an old, hand engraved pair of American coin silver sugar tongs from the late 18th or early 19th century. These tongs were made between 1780-1820. The tongs are in a simple form, with rounded feet. The top is engraved with lovely bright cut cartouches and a monogram of the letter F done in a sinuous font.
These tongs are guaranteed to be at least 900 purity, coin silver.
This piece is in fabulous overall condition for its age. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs.
