The underside is marked with full English hallmarks: the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the old duty mark of King George III, and the date letter, K, representing 1785. There is also a maker's mark, SW, likely for Samuel Wood.
This piece is in great overall condition, especially considering age. The piece sits flat, without wobbling. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, and no repairs.
