Presented is a great sterling silver English entree serving spoon from 1778. This large piece displays a lovely decorative boarder on the front of the handle. The handle end has a crest of an alpaca or perhaps horse head, maybe representing the Benn Family.

The spoon is marked on the reverse with full English hallmarks: The lion passant for the sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for London, and the date letter C representing 1778. There is also a maker's mark, WT, which is likely for Walter Tweedie, but there were multiple maker's in London with these initials at the time.

This piece is in great overall condition, especially considering age. There are only minor surface marks from normal use. There are no breaks, no splits, and no repairs.

Length: 11 inches
Weight: 87 grams or 3 ounces
