1750 to 1850 Antique 20k Yellow Gold Filigree Double Chain Necklace
Regular price
$3,480.00
Presented is an antique, high karat yellow gold choker style necklace made between 1750 to 1850. This Georgian or earlier Victorian piece is comprised of double chains and a lovely, centered medallion or pendant that is designed with a floral, filigree scene. The bottom of the filigree clasp has a small angel. This can be seen in the 1st and 4th photos.
It is impossible to know where this necklace was made. Probably England or the US, or continental Europe.
Stone tested with nitric acid and guaranteed to be 20k gold. In a side by side test with 18k gold, this piece held up quite a bit better.
This piece is in great condition. The plunger style clasp is secure. There are old solder repairs to all four round links that connect to the clasp. These are all now strong and secure. Although they are visible in the photos, these minor repairs are not visible from more than 8 inches away. Also for a piece that is approximately 200 plus years old, the condition is amazing.
The chain measures 16 inches long.
The pendant measures 1 inch wide.
Weight: 27 grams.
