Regular price
$3,168.00
Presented is a nice English Georgian sterling silver coffee pot. This piece is dated 1731 and was made by Robert Lucas. The pot is done in a classical tapering lighthouse form, with a domed lid and scrolled handle. One side of the pot is engraved with an intricate crest of a tree inside a shield surrounded by various foliage and scrolls. The opposite side has a monogram of JBT. The handle is carved from wood, with a black lacquer. The spout is decorated with a scrolled foliate design where it joins the body and along the top edge.
This piece is in great overall condition. The crest is somewhat worn, but still visible. There are no splits, no leaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is hallmarked on the underside with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the date letter P for 1731, and the maker's mark for Robert Lucas.
This piece stands about 8 7/8 inches tall.
This piece weighs 799 grams or 28.2 regular ounces.
