Presented is a lovely antique silver Persian pendant necklace. The stone on the pendant is a piece of beautifully engraved chalcedony. The stone is carved into a faceted design and each 'face' is very finely engraved with an inscription in a flowing Arabic type script. The inscriptions are so tiny you almost don't notice them until the light hits a facet of the stone, and yet they were done by hand, the craftsmanship is incredible. The pendant is older than the necklace, and dates to at least the mid 1800s, possibly as early as the 1700s, it is hard to say with this type of design. The chain, which is a snake type chain with an S-hook clasp, is a more modern piece. On the back of the pendant there is a thin silver backing, partially peeled away, which is also engraved with a simple design. This is a neat piece, possibly of some religious significance. Let the photos be your guide.

The necklace is tested and guaranteed for silver, at least 900 purity.

The necklace for its age is in good condition. The thin silver on the back of the pendant has some loss. Otherwise, there are no repairs and no problems.
