Presented is a fine set of 16 porcelain dinner plates made by George Jones & Sons. The plates are decorated with a beautiful wreath of detailed pink roses and green leaves around the outer edge. There is raised white enamel paint decoration on the red roses. The plates have a scalloped rim that is nicely gilded. These plates were made in the early 1900s, most likely between 1900 to 1930.
The plates are marked on the underside with the maker’s mark for George Jones & Sons and Made in England. They are also marked with Gilman Collamore & Co. New York for the retailer.
One plate does have significant cracks, although it is still useable. The other 15 plates are in excellent condition. Think of this as a set of 12 with at least three extras, great for people whose hands are not that steady or tend to drop things. There are no other cracks, no chips, no breaks, and no repairs.
