Presented is a lovely shell cameo of a pretty woman with flowers in her hair,
set in 14 karat gold. The cameo itself is very finely carved, with amazing
detail and wonderful usage of the translucence of the natural material for
shading. The gold setting is very well made and makes a pleasant complement to
the material of the cameo, in the shape of a gold ribbon spiraling around the
outside of the oval.
The brooch is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no cracks, no
chips, and no repairs. The pin back has been replaced at some point and is not
original to the piece.
This piece has been nitric acid tested and is guaranteed 14k.
The brooch is approximately 2 inches long.
The brooch weighs 14.5 grams.
