Presented is a vintage set of 12 English sterling silver dinner knives made by William Yates Ltd. of Sheffield in 1955. This mid 20th century set is done in a classic Georgian, English Kings or King pattern. The sterling handles have never been monogrammed. The blades are stainless steel.
Each handle is marked with the crown hallmark for the city of Sheffield, the lion passant for sterling silver purity, a date letter N for the year 1955 and a maker's mark for William Yates Ltd.
This set is in excellent overall condition, especially for its age. One of the handles has a small ding to the very end, but this is hardly noticeable.
Length: 9 3/4 inches.
