Presented is a marvelous set of 12 porcelain luncheon plates by the renowned English maker, George Jones & Sons. The plates have a gorgeous design with five reserves at the top decorated with red and blue flowers and berries done in a raised enamel type paint. The flowers are surrounded with a gilt border of raised beads. Simply the finest quality china.
The plates are marked on the underside with the crescent maker’s mark for George Jones & Sons England and Creange-Walter Inc., 17 East 40th St., New York for the retailer. These plates were made in the late 1800s or the early 1900s.
The condition is excellent. Some of the plates have a few knife marks, but this is minor. There are no chips, no cracks, no crazing, no breaks, and no repairs.
