Presented is an antique set of 12 sterling silver demitasse coffee spoons made by the Whiting Manufacturing Company during the last quarter of the 19th century. This set is done in the Arabesque pattern, which was patented in 1875 and these are old, original production. Each handle is finely detailed with a Griffin or dragon surrounded by swirling designs. All of the decoration is very crisp and not worn. The front of each handle has a monogram of the letter P done in a Gothic script. Each bowl has a matte finish.
The back of each spoon is marked for Whiting, patent 1875 and sterling silver purity.
This set is in excellent condition and the designs are crisp. better than the photos show.
