Presented is a fine set of 12 American coin silver forks by Smith and Chamberlain. Smith and Chamberlain were active in Salem, Massachusetts during the 1840s and 1850s. The forks are engraved on the reverse with S. F. Frye.
The forks are hallmarked on the reverse with the maker’s mark for Smith & Chamberlain.
The condition is excellent. There is some wear and rounding to the tines. The forks have some surface wear commensurate with age and light use, but this is minor. There are no dents, no dings, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The forks are 7 3/8 inches long.
The weight is 537.9 grams or 18.8 ounces.
