Presented is a fantastic quality set of 12 English Georgian sterling silver dessert, oval soup, or place size spoons. These spoons date to 1818 and were made by Thomas Wallis & Jonathan Hayne. The spoons are made in a classic Fiddle pattern, and are quite heavy, high quality pieces. Each spoon is finely engraved on the front of the terminal with a monogram of C beneath a crest of a leopard's head erased.
Each spoon is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the date letter C for 1818, the duty stamp of King George IV's head, and the maker's mark for Thomas Wallis & Jonathan Hayne.
This set is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
Each spoon is about 7 inches long.
The total weight for the set is 612 grams or 21.6 regular ounces. -jm
