Offered in this sale is a very unusual antique 14K yellow gold filigree Victorian ring set with a molded cameo that simulates a hardstone cameo. This piece is from the late 1800s. The coral colored bust of a classical Roman warrior is set off against a carnelian colored background. It is hard to tell exactly, but this looks like they were molded together in a pate-de verre process rather than assembled as I have seen in other glass cameos. The subject is finely rendered and the coral - carnelian color combination is quite striking. It is set in a Victorian style yellow gold filigree setting.

Marks: Stamped 14K. We have tested the ring with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14K gold.

Dimensions: Ring size 6, cameo 7/8" x 5/8".

The weight is 7.4 grams. Quite substantial!

Condition: Very good, with four TINY nicks to the very edge of the cameo, barely visibly to the naked eye. No other chips, breaks or damage of any kind.
