Sweet Victorian/Art Nouveau Gold Filled Floral Engraved Bangle Bracelet
Regular price
$180.00
Presented is a wonderful American Victorian gold filled bangle bracelet. This piece dates to circa 1880-1900, and is marked JFB & Co. The bracelet is a classical bangle style with lavish floral engraving around the exterior, very detailed and well done, with a bit of an Art Nouveau look to it, which makes sense for the time period. In the center of the engraved decoration is a blank cartouche, never monogrammed or inscribed. The bracelet has a nearly invisible clasp with a small button to open it.
This piece is in excellent condition. The gold plating is in great shape, with no wear through that I can see. The hinge and clasp mechanism is working well and the bracelet closes with an audible snap. There are a couple of tiny dings to the side of the bracelet, about the size of the head of a pin or smaller, which are quite hard to notice, particularly if the bracelet is being worn.
The bracelet will fit a wrist of about 7 ½ inches in circumference or smaller. The bracelet is about 7.8 millimeters or about 1/4 of an inch wide.
The bracelet weighs 16 grams. Please note this weight is for reference only, the bracelet is gold-filled, not gold.
