Presented is a superb quality Tiffany & Co 186 piece sterling silver flatware set. This set is made in the elegant Marquise pattern, which began production in 1902. The set serves 12, with a wide variety of specialized utensils as well as all the basics, and 12 serving pieces of varying sorts. The dinner and luncheon knives have stainless steel blades in the Old Blunt style. The dessert/breakfast knives have sterling silver blades. Every piece has a monogram of P on the handle, except for one of the three serving spoons.

The set consists of:

  • 12 dinner forks--7 7/8 inches long.
  • 12 dinner knives--10 1/4 inches long.
  • 12 luncheon forks-6 3/4 inches long.
  • 12 luncheon knives --9 1/4 inches long.
  • 16 fish/dessert forks--6 7/8 inches long.
  • 12 fish/dessert/breakfast knives--7 1/2 inches long.
  • 11 butter knives-5 3/4 inches long.
  • 16 cream soup spoons--5 3/8 inches long.
  • 12 gumbo soup spoons--8 inches long.
  • 12 place/oval/dessert spoons--7 inches long.
  • 17 ice cream/dessert sporks--5 3/4 inches long.
  • 12 teaspoons-5 3/4 inches long.
  • 12 sundae/parfait/ice tea spoons--7 1/2 inches long.
  • 6 demitasse spoons-- 4 3/4 inches long.
  • 3 serving spoons--7 3/4  inches long.
  • 1 crumber/fish slice-- 13 inches long.
  • 1 sugar sifter/serving spoon--6 5/8 inches long.
  • 1 scalloped serving spoon--9 inches long.
  • 1 fluted serving scoop--8 5/8 inches long.
  • 1 pierced serving ladle--5 5/8 inches long.
  • 1 meat serving fork--8 3/4 inches long.
  • 1 lemon serving fork--7 inches long.
  • 1 pickle serving fork--6 inches long.
  • 1 cake/pie server--10 1/4 inches long.
  • This set is in excellent condition. The details of the pattern's design are nice and crisp. The blades are all well attached to the handles of the knives. The forks have only the most minor of knife marks to the backs of the tines, mainly on the dinner forks. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

We are including with the set a felt-lined wooden flatware storage chest. The chest is in good shape and does an excellent job of protecting the silver from wear. The chest is a free gift and does not factor in to the price or condition statement of the set, we merely include it as a convenience for the buyer. If you do not want this storage chest, please let us know and we will not ship it.

Each non-knife piece is stamped sterling, Tiffany & Co, and the patent date of the pattern, 1902. The dinner knives are marked Tiffany & Co and New York on the blades, as well as the Tiffany & Co maker's mark, sterling and the initial 'M' for the company director between 1907-1947, John C. Moore II, on the collars of the handles. The luncheon knives are marked Tiffany & Co and New York on one side of the blade, and England on the other, with the Tiffany & Co maker's mark, sterling and the initial 'M' for the company director between 1907-1947, John C. Moore II, on the collars of the handles. The dessert/breakfast knives are marked Tiffany & Co and sterling on the blades.

The weight for the set, not including the dinner knives, luncheon knives, and the pie server due to their stainless blades, is 7769 grams or 274 regular ounces. Considering the sterling silver handles of the knives and pie server, there is more than this weight in sterling silver for the set.
