Superb Pair American Victorian 10k Gold Slide Bracelets w Seed Pearl Decoration
Presented is a fantastic pair of American Victorian 10 karat gold slide bracelets. These pieces date to around the 1870s. The portion of the bracelets where the chain slides through is finely hand engraved and textured, with an applied star-shaped decoration set with a single seed pearl. Hanging from the front of this decoration is a little dangle, with four bead-tipped tassels. The rectangular end piece is likewise hand engraved and textured, and has four little chain tassels with bead tips. The tassels hang free and dangle when the bracelets are worn, giving the bracelets an attractive, eye-catching movement.
The back of the slide portion on each is engraved with L. A. Underhill, Concord NH.
This pieces are not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested them with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 10 karat gold.
The bracelets are very adjustable, due to the nature of their design. Adjusted to the largest size, each bracelet will fit a wrist of about 8 1/2 inches in circumference. The slider allows the bracelets to be adjusted down to a very small size, smaller than a person could wear. The bracelets do not 'unhook' so they must be slipped on over the hand.
The total weight for the pair is 45 grams or 1.6 regular ounces.
