Presented is a very fine quality 18K gold tourmaline ring. The tourmaline is an unusual triangular cut with beautiful color. The photos show a darker color than in person, where it's a beautiful red with pink overtones. The stone is prong set in an upside-down pyramidal setting set at the top of an interesting, hand-hammered ring. The stone measures about 10.9 by 11.2 millimeters wide, from the middle of one side to the opposite point. We are unable to measure the depth, because the back of the ring is closed. The ring has two guard beads on the inside.
The ring is marked 18K on the inside of the band. We have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 18K gold.
The condition is excellent. There are minor abrasions to the surface of the tourmaline, only noticeable on very close inspection. The stone is securely set and the setting is in great shape. There are no breaks, no cracks, no splits, no dents, no chips and no repairs.
The ring measures a size four with the guard beads, and it can comfortably fit a 5 3/4 finger that has a little more flesh than bone. Without the guard beads, the ring may be a size 6 1/4, possibly larger.
The ring weighs 3.5 grams.
