Presented is an extraordinary, three-strand, garnet gemstone bead and pearl necklace with rock crystal teardrop pendants and 18 karat gold accents, definitively designed and made by fine luxury and highly skilled artisans in Vicenza, Italy. This piece shows the quality and style of Vicenza's Marco Bicego, and we believe it to be one of his early works. The solid, clear pendants have a sumptuous, diamond-like quality with lavish gold caps. The pearls are well-matched, with a peachy and lustrous nacre. The multitude of faceted hessonite garnets glimmer from a rich and fiery amber color, with an 18 karat gold ring in bold contrast, gathering the garnet strands.

As we show in photo close-ups, the gold, 3-strand clasp and gold ring show all of the maker's marks for Colpo & Zilio, including "750" for 18 karat gold purity, as well as the Italian star, and their registered trademark, "958VI"; with the "VI" indicating Vicenza Italy, a beautiful city 30 or so miles from Venice. It is obvious that the clasp was made by Colpo & Zilio, a premier clasp jeweler in Vicenza. When you look closely at the gold cap on each crystal pendant, you will see what we believe is Marco's early signature as the necklace designer, also discreetly engraved into the gold ring, a lovely swept "B" with the "M" incorporated as the curves. Condition: The necklace is in excellent condition. There are no damages or repairs. The strands appear strong and all stones and pearls are fine. A jeweler's loupe shows some light wear on the gold ring.

The length of this necklace, as worn, is about 30 inches, not including the pendants. Holding the piece, doubled from the 3-strand clasp, it measures 20 inches total length to the bottom of the lowest hanging pendant.
