Presented is a wonderful 9 carat gold and ruby pin or brooch, by UK jewelry artist Harriet Glen. This piece is done in the form of a leopard sitting on a branch, wonderfully detailed and lifelike. The leopard is done in a beautiful matte yellow gold finish with black enamel spots and ruby eyes, while the tree is nicely textured and detailed, done in white gold for an appealing contrast. A very well designed piece that nicely captures the leopard's attitude. This piece retails new from Harriet Glen's site for £ 980, or $1,210, but we are pleased to offer this piece for a more affordable price.

This piece is in excellent condition. The detail of the finish is nice and crisp and the black enamel of the spots is intact. The clasp is working well.

The back of the pin is stamped with English hallmarks: the crown and 375 for 9 karat gold, the leopard's head for the assay city of London, the date letter a for 2000 as well as the commemorative mark of 2000 in a cross form. The maker's mark is HG, for Harriet Glen.

The pin measures about 2 inches long.

The pin weighs 11.1 grams.
