Presented is a wonderful Victorian 14K yellow gold pin with a buckle at the center. The pin is beautifully textured with flowers, scrolls and leaves against a finely stippled background. The pin has the old C style clasp on the reverse. It is very well made. It was made around the 1840s to the 1870s, probably in America.
The pin is not marked. We have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14K gold.
There is one little hole where the left side of the buckle joins the rest of the pin, and an old solder repair on one side on the reverse. There are also a few little dents and dings around the sides of the piece, but this is fairly minor. Otherwise, the pin is in good condition. The clasp is working well. There are no breaks.
The pin measures 1 3/8 inches by 1 3/4 inches.
The weight is 8.6 grams.
