Presented is a fabulous silver 3-piece youth set from Hotchkiss & Schreuder. This set is in the Medallion pattern, which was patented in 1867. The pattern displays a Greco-Roman style medallion head on the front of each handle end. The back of each piece displays a monogram. The spoon's monogram reads “Julia 92”. The fork and knife displays “AMK”.
The reverse of the spoon is marked sterling along with the maker's mark for Hotchkiss & Schreuder. The fork and knife do not display a purity mark, but they are coin silver. They are marked with the maker's mark for Hotchkiss & Schreuder and a retailer “C.S. Ball”. The fork and knife are tested and guaranteed coin purity silver. This set is likely an assembled set with the spoon, likely a demitasse spoon, being added to the original fork and knife pair.
The set is in great overall condition with crisp pattern details. The spoon appears to have had a matte finish gold wash which is now mostly gone. There are no breaks and no repairs.
