Great Assembled Set of 5 Antique Victorian Brass Weights 4lb Through 4oz

Presented is a neat set of 5 antique Victorian brass weights, one a four-pound weight, one a two-pound weight, a one-pound weight, an 8-ounce weight, and a 4-ounce weight. This assembled set was likely produced between the late 1800s and early 1900s. The weights are made in a bell shape, with handles at the top and the denominations marked on the top side of the handles. Nice patina; would make great paperweights or other office/study type décor.

The 4lb weight has “cased” marked on the top. The 2lb weight has VR 29 marked on the top and FD marked on the underside. The 1lb weight has W & T Avery Ltd marked on the top and M marked on the underside. The 8oz weight has two faded marks on the top and marked FD underneath along with many year marks. The 4oz weight has been marked 1924 on the underside.

These weights are in great condition. Some surface wear, nothing more than you'd expect for pieces of metal used as weights. No breaks or repairs. The weight is slightly inaccurate on all of them, mostly off by just a 1/10 of an ounce.

The four pound weight is 5 1/2 inches tall. The two pound weight is 4 1/2 inches tall. The one pound weight is 3 1/2 inches tall. The eight ounce weight is 2 5/8 inches tall. The four ounce weight is 2 inches tall. -kc
