Presented is a wonderful pair of 18 karat gold carved cameo earrings. These earrings are relatively modern and were made in Italy. Each earring is set with a glass cameo, carved to depict a pretty woman with her wavy hair done up. The cameos are surrounded by an elegant ropetwist border, with a triangular dangle hanging beneath. Each dangle is tipped with a lovely white pearl. The style of the earrings is reminiscent of the work of jewelry artist Elizabeth Locke, known for her carved intaglio pieces in high karat gold. The earrings have omega style clipbacks, suitable for wear with pierced or unpierced ears, though posts could easily be added for pierced ears by our jeweler or your local jeweler.
The earrings are in great condition. The cameos are in good shape, with crisp details and no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The clipbacks have a good strong spring mechanism.
Each earring is stamped and guaranteed 18k, as well as Italy and a government registered maker's mark.
