Frank Meisler Sterling Silver Lapis Lazuli Hamsa Chai Hand Pendant Pin w Chain
Presented is a wonderful signed Frank Meisler sterling silver hamsa pendant
necklace. Frank Meisler was a superb sculptor and jewelry artist, known for his
work in Judaica themed jewelry and figures. This particular pendant is made in a
symmetrically stylized hand form, a symbol used in both the Jewish and Muslim
faith, sometimes called the Hand of Miriam or the Hand of Fatima. In yellow gold
is the Hebrew word chai or hai, , and above is a round cabochon of lapis lazuli,
set in an eye form on the front of a silhouette of the walls of Jerusalem,
likewise tipped in gold. The pendant has a loop/bail in the back of about 4.8
millimeters, so it will fit a wide variety of chain sizes and styles. There is
also a clasp in back so it can be worn as a brooch. This pendant/pin retails new
from the Frank Meisler site for $280, but we are pleased to offer this piece
including a chain for a much more affordable price.
This necklace is in excellent condition. The pendant is in great shape, with
no chips or damage to the stone and no significant dents. The clasp is working
well, on both the chain and on the back of the pin/pendant. The chain has no
kinks or damages.
The pendant is signed Frank Meisler as well as 925 for sterling silver. The
chain is marked 925 as well as Italy and GLO.
The pendant measures about 2 ½ by 1 5/8 inches. The chain is about 30 inches
long and about 1/8 of an inch wide.
The total weight for the pendant and chain is 31 grams or 1.1 regular ounces.
