Presented is a Victorian, 10 karat yellow gold and hand carved shell cameo brooch/pin or pendant from the late 1800s or very early 1900s. The solid gold mounting is done in a wonderful, openwork design, like brickwork or something similarly geometric. The bezel set cameo is carved into the form of a lovely young woman in a 19th century style, very detailed and well done, with two tiny red stones set in her hair ornament. There is a hinged bale or loop on the top to hang the piece as a pendant. The clasp has a safety latch for added security.
This piece has been tested with nitric acid and is guaranteed to be 10 karat gold purity. This piece is in excellent overall condition. There are no flaws.
