Presented is a wonderful, old fork made by English silversmith George Unite in 1871. The handle of the fork is made out of a piece of solid piece of granite or marble or agate. The tines are sterling silver and the collar has a great monogram of the letters C,C and P overlapping. This 19th century piece would make a beautiful serving piece and could be used for many things.
The back of the tines is marked with the anchor symbol for Birmingham, the lion passant for sterling silver, a date letter w for the year 1871, a duty mark of Queen Victoria's head and a maker's mark for George Unite.
This old piece is in great condition. Part of the stone handle has broken off and been re-attached with epoxy; the repair is professional and is hardly noticeable, the split line is pointed out in the photos below and is also visible on more than one side. The handle is strong and secure. Otherwise, there are no dents, no chips, no cracks, no monogram removals and no other repairs.

The fork measures 6 3/4 inches long.
