Fine English Sterling Silver Boxed Set 6 Dessert Spoons w/ Server Rattail Design

Regular price $570.00 $0.00 Unit price per

Presented is a fine English sterling silver set of 6 dessert spoons, with
server, in their original box. The set was made by Cooper Brothers & Sons
and dates to 1929. The set is done in a lovely classic Rattail pattern, with a
rattail ridge on the back of the bowl and upward turned pipped ends to the
handles. The spoons have round bowls, and the server does as well. We think this
is a dessert set, as the server is a bit small for soup, but of course you can
use them however you like. The box is fitted and velvet lined on the interior,
with an alligator or lizard skin pattern papered exterior.

The set is in excellent condition. The box has done a great job protecting
this set from the effects of time. There are no splits, no dents, no monograms,
no monogram removals, and no repairs. The box has some wear to its exterior, but
is in good shape overall.

Each piece is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the crown
for the city of Sheffield, the date letter m for 1929, and the maker's mark for
Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd.

The serving spoon is about 8 1/4 inches long. The six dessert spoons are
about 6 inches long.

The total weight for the set (without the box) is 290 grams or 10.2 regular
ounces.
