Fine 1804 English Sterling Silver Snuff Box

Presented is an antique, English sterling silver snuff box made by Thomas Phipps & Edward Robinson of London, England, in 1804. The sides of the box are crafted with a crosshatching design. The top of the box presents a cartouche with a monogram immersed in a decorative crosshatched foliage accent pattern. The decorative crosshatched foliage pattern also presents on the bottom of the snufff box. The inside of the box has a beautiful gold gild. This snuff box has a unique concave design, allowing it to easily sit well on the leg when in the pocket.
The inside of the snuff box is marked with a lion passant mark indicating sterling silver, a leopard's crowned head for London, the date letter I for 1804, the duty mark of King George III's head and the maker's mark TP & ER for Thomas Phipps & Edward Robinson.
This piece is in excellent condition. The hinge is in good working order and opens and closes nicely. The inside presents with a strong gold wash.
