Presented is a wonderful quality Georgian English sterling silver dish cross from circa 1760-1770. This dish cross has a reservoir for a burner to keep plates warm, and the arms adjust to accommodate a wide variety of sizes of serving plate or platter. One of the branches is monogrammed with AWC in elegant script. This is a very heavy and well-made piece of English silver work and would be an asset to any table or collection.

This piece is in great overall condition. The arms move well. There are no splits, no breaks, no monogram removals, and no other problems.

The piece is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, and a maker's mark of E*A. The maker's mark is for Edward Aldridge, as recorded in Grimwade for the year 1762. There are other marks which have been obscured.

The dish cross stands 3 3/4 inches tall.

The dish cross weighs 663 grams total or 23.4 regular ounces.
