Fabulous c1800 Sheffield Fused Plate Silverplate Pinstripe Straight Spout Teapot

Presented is a fabulous old Sheffield fused silverplate teapot, dating to around 1785-1820s. This excellent Georgian piece is well made in an oval form with a straight spout and carved wood C scroll handle. The body is stylishly decorated with a vertical pinstripe design, while the spout is likewise decorated in pinstripes but in an elegant twist design. A very handsome piece. The straight spout in particular gives the pot a very clean and smooth pour, and the liquid capacity of 4 cups (32 fluid ounces/.95 liters) is very useable.
This piece is in great overall condition, particularly considering age. There is an old solder repair where the spout joins to the body, visible in the seventh photograph. There is some solder visible on the interior at the same location. The handle has an old solder repair as well, but is quite sound and strong, with only a little give. Some bleed through the silver plating here and there to the copper beneath, but most noticeably to the underside. No dents, no leaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no other repairs.
The teapot measures about 11 1/2 inches from handle to spout and stands about 6 1/8 inches tall to the top of the finial of the lid. -jm
