Presented is a wonderful Towle sterling silver 52 piece flatware set. This set is done in the popular Old Master pattern, which began production in 1942. The pieces are all very well made, with a nice feeling of weight in the hand. The knives have sterling silver handles and stainless steel blades, in the New French style.

The set consists of:

10 knives--8 7/8 inches.

10 forks--7 1/8 inches.

7 fish/pastry/salad forks--6 3/8 inches.

15 teaspoons--5 7/8 inches.

5 round bowled soup spoons--6 1/4 inches.

6 butter spreaders--5 3/4 inches.

2 serving spoons--8 1/2 inches.

1 sauce/gravy serving ladle--6 3/4 inches.

1 shell sugar serving spoon--5 3/4 inches.

Each piece is stamped with the maker's mark for Towle as well as sterling, patent, and the name of the pattern, Old Master. The knives are marked Towle, sterling handle, and stainless blade, on the blades.

This set is in great condition. The details of the pattern are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

This set comes in a large leather exterior flatware storage chest, which came to us with the set. If you do not want this chest, please let us know and we will reduce the cost of shipping to just the flatware.

The total weight for the set, not including the larger knives due to their stainless steel blades, is 1479 grams or 52.2 regular ounces.
