Elegant ABP Cut Glass Gorham Sterling Silver Thistle Scotch Whiskey Decanter

Presented is a wonderful quality antique American Brilliant Period cut glass and Gorham sterling silver decanter. The body of the decanter is beautifully cut with intricate zipper cut decoration vertically along the body and a faceted design to the handle. The glass is unsigned, which is not unusual for ABP cut glass, but the quality of the glass and cut decoration suggest a high end, well known maker like Hawkes, Tuthill, Dorflinger, etc. The stopper, which has a sterling silver knob, is wonderfully chased with thistle designs, perfect for Scotch whiskey (or whatever else you like, of course). The stopper is stamped with the Gorham maker's mark as well as sterling and the number D1662.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are some tiny flakes/flea bites notably to the zipper cut decoration, but no serious chips or bruises. There is some minor sickness to the glass, but between the profusion of the decoration and the color of the liquor it would be filled with, this would be hard to notice when the piece is actually in use. The silver has no splits, no dents, and no monogram removals. No breaks and no repairs.
The decanter stands about 9 1/8 inches tall and measures about 5 3/4 by 4 inches. -jm
