Presented is an old, 10 karat yellow gold and hand carved shell cameo brooch/pin or pendant from the late 1800s or very early 1900s. The solid gold mounting is engraved with pretty leaf and flower designs. The bezel set cameo is carved into the form of a lovely young woman. There is a hinged bale or loop on the top to hang the piece as a pendant. The clasp has a safety latch for added security.
This piece has been tested with nitric acid and is guaranteed to be 10 karat gold purity.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. There are no breaks and no repairs.
The pin measures 1 3/8 by 1 3/4 inches and weighs 11 grams.
