c1900 Stunning Japanese Meiji Period Cloisonné Floral Box
Regular price
$564.00
Presented is a stunning Japanese cloisonne box. This is a Meiji period piece, dating to circa 1900. The box is beautifully decorated with very colorful and detailed floral designs, including chrysanthemums and peonies. Around the sides of the box is a gold spiral design and five petal daisy type flowers. Even the underside is decorated, with pretty cloisonne wirework and white enamel. The box has a hinged lid with a brace at one corner for stability. Great as a jewelry box, dresser box, or for storing whatever mementos and trinkets you like.
This piece is in excellent condition. There is some wear to the gold wash of the interior, but this is not visible from the exterior of the piece. The hinge and brace of the lid are in great shape and work smoothly. There are no breaks, no losses, and no repairs.
The box has approximate dimensions of 4 ½ by 3 3/8 by 1 5/8 inches, LxWxH.
