Presented is a lovely little European silver scent or perfume bottle in the shape of a lute. This piece dates to the second half of the 1800s and is likely of Hanau German make. The lute is done in a realistic and ornately decorated style, complete with silver wire 'strings.' The lute features detailed scrollwork on the front and a scene of two cherubs on the back. The neck of the lute has a little cork stopper.
This piece is not stamped or hallmarked that we can find, but we have tested it and guarantee it to be at least 800 purity silver.
This piece is in great condition. The details of the decoration are nice and crisp. The lid closes nicely. The cork stopper is new and is in great shape. There are no splits, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The bottle is about 4 3/4 inches long.
